The design of 'Gemnest' drew reference from the multidimensional properties of gemstones. The living room is experienced in multiple layers separated by several main frames with integrated lighting. A mirror was installed in the foyer to frame and reflect the dining space.
The built-in shoe cabinet that’s linked to the TV console helped to achieve continuity of space. The main focal point of “Gemnest” is the walkway along the dining space. In order to capture the essence of the space, a timber frame with laminate finish and concealed lighting was constructed.
A feature wall with black tinted mirrors and grey laminate paneling along the walkway created a contrast with the clean look of the dining space. Concealed doors were visually blended with the feature wall to bring about a seamless look to the walkway.
A mirror was installed at the back of the dining settee to enlarge the space visually and to allow the reflection of lights coming from various directions. The kitchen wall was also hacked to connect the kitchen to the dining space.
