Every man looks his best when wearing a suit – and so can a living space. Drawing inspiration from a tuxedo, where the classic black and white colour combination makes an appearance, this entire living space becomes an amplified version of the suit.
The harshness of the black tinted mirror cuts into the natural and organic texture of the white marble, demanding its presence made known by holding up the entire feature wall. However, using the right ratio of black to white, the black tinted mirror does not overpower the white marble wall, but instead enhances the texture, giving life to the grey veins of the wall. This elegant piece not only serves as a TV console, but also acts as a functional house to all of the footwear of the people in the household.
Keeping to the colour scheme, the entire dining space is on the darker side – except the light oak feature walls, and the doors of the master bedroom and children’s room, which instantly brightens up the area. Black dining furniture have been carefully curated and placed against a black back painted glass divider, where at first glance, one might just miss it.
Drawing inspiration from the tuxedo and its contrast, a strip of black line runs through the ceiling of entire house, emphasising on the seamlessness of the ceiling design. In the master bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe now stands in place of a storeroom. Using a darker wood to tie the interior together, the master bedroom definitely does not stray far from the tuxedo inspired living space.
Elegant and timeless, the tuxedo will never disappoint.
